Throughout this semester we will work to develop a business idea into a business plan.
This is the major assignment for this course.

Do you have an idea you want to create a plan for?

You may have a business idea you want to look at already. If you have an idea you want to develop a business plan for you can do this. I would ask that you reach out to me so we can chat about it before you put a ton of work into it. I want to make sure your idea can be supported through the work we will do in our course and also gauge what kind of resources I can support you with.

Are you coming to our course without an idea – that’s great too!

If you are not coming to our learning with an idea already that’s good too. We will work with the idea of a side hustle. Something you can do to make extra money. To keep the idea within these parameters you should follow the basic guidelines for your side hustle:

– The business cannot cost more than $20,000 upfront.
– You must reasonably believe you can profit $5,000 annually from this venture by year three of operation.
– It must be able to be done within current conditions so in the world we find ourselves in where Covid-19 health protections measures are in place and changing.
– It must be something you have the skills or ability to do. For example, if this is a business that will develop apps for clients but you don’t have software development skills you will not be able to pursue this.

Next week we will consider how entrepreneurs get inspiration for their business ventures and engage in some activities to get your ideas flowing but for this week…..
